Cesar Abella is a graduate of UCLA, where he received a BA in Theatre, and of The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where he received an MA in Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media. A native of San Francisco, Cesar's theatrical work has been performed in Los Angeles, New York City and London. He was the only American member of the 2009 Old Vic New Voices class, where he had a 24 hour play performed at The Old Vic. He is currently an Artist in Residence with Theatre Unleashed in Los Angeles.
Cesar has been nominated for several awards, most recently for his play "Sleeping Around," which enjoyed a sold-out run at the 2015 Hollywood Fringe Festival. He placed second in the 2011 San Jose Short Film Awards for a horror film he wrote and directed in forty-eight hours. He is currently working on a television teen dramedy pilot and a new play about best friends and gentrification.
